About Ferrous Metal Coating Thickness Gauge
As an Authorized dealer we are engaged in providing the broad assortment of Elcometer, UK make Dry Film Coating Thickness (DFT) gauge. Reduce coating thickness inspection times on blast cleaned steel substrates with the Elcometer 456 IPC (Industrial Protective Coating) Thickness Gauge. This Coating Thickness Gauge is designed to measure dry film thickness on shot or grit blasted steel substrates.
Pre-calibrated with 4 surface profile ranges, in accordance to the NAVSEA Standard Item (NSI) 009-32, the Elcometer 456 IPC is fast and accurate. The user selectable surface profiles include smooth, fine, medium and coarse ranges. The gauge built in integral ferrous probe allows thickness measurements to be taken on flat or curved surfaces, in mils or microns.
Very fast and accurate reading rate of 70+ readings per minute, the gauge displays 3 individual coating thickness readings together with the average of three also.
Readings can be transferred via Bluetooth® or USB to ElcoMaster ®, or your own software application for instant report generation.

FAQs of Ferrous Metal Coating Thickness Gauge:
Q: How does the Ferrous Metal Coating Thickness Gauge perform measurements?
A: This gauge uses magnetic induction to determine coating thickness on ferrous surfaces such as steel and iron. The integrated probe is manually operated across the substrate, providing precise measurements displayed instantly on the digital LCD screen.
Q: What materials can I measure with this thickness gauge?
A: The gauge is compatible exclusively with ferrous metals, specifically steel and iron, ensuring accurate coating thickness measurements for these substrates. It is not suitable for non-ferrous metals like aluminum or copper.
Q: What calibration methods are available for ensuring measurement accuracy?
A: Zero and standard calibration methods are supported. Zero calibration sets the baseline before use, while the standard calibration utilizes supplied test foils to fine-tune the devices accuracy prior to measurements.
Q: When should I use the data hold function?
A: The data hold function is helpful when you need to pause and record specific readings during measurements. It allows the display to retain the measured value even after the probe is removed, aiding in precise documentation.
Q: Where can this coating thickness gauge be used?
A: This portable, handheld gauge is ideally suited for quality control laboratories, manufacturing facilities, construction sites, or any environment where accurate coating thickness measurements on ferrous substrates are required.
Q: What is the procedure for measuring multiple specimens?
A: For multiple specimens, select the group measurement mode. The device will record each measurement, storing up to 100 results, which you can later review for quality control or comparative analysis.
Q: What are the benefits of using this gauge for coating thickness measurement?
A: Benefits include fast response time, reliable accuracy, easy calibration, and convenient portability. Its ability to store multiple readings and work in varying environmental conditions ensures efficient and precise measurement processes, essential for industrial applications.
