Penetration Strength Testers for Mortar, Concrete and Shotcrete
LANGRY Penetration Strength Testers are professional field testing instruments for rapid assessment of mortar and concrete strength using the penetration method. The range includes the SJY-800B Penetration Mortar Strength Tester and SJY-1000B Penetration Concrete Strength Tester. By applying controlled penetration force and measuring test-nail penetration depth, the instruments provide strength-related field data through the applicable measurement curve.
Ideal for civil engineers, construction contractors, inspection agencies, quality-control laboratories and infrastructure professionals, LANGRY penetration testers provide a practical addition to a complete construction NDT testing program.
A penetration strength tester measures the depth to which a standardized test nail penetrates mortar or concrete under controlled force. Penetration depth is then correlated with material compressive strength using the applicable strength measurement curve.
CONTROLLED FORCE NAIL PENETRATION DEPTH MEASUREMENT STRENGTH CURVE ESTIMATED STRENGTH
The SJY-800B is designed primarily for masonry mortar strength testing. Its lever-type force application system, test nail, and digital penetration-depth measurement make it suitable for construction inspection, masonry quality control, and field mortar evaluation.
SJY-1000B Penetration Concrete Strength Tester
The SJY-1000B is designed for concrete penetration testing and is specifically positioned for shotcrete strength testing. It uses controlled penetration force and digital depth measurement to provide practical field information about concrete resistance.

Different NDT methods provide different types of information. A rebound hammer evaluates surface rebound response; ultrasonic testing evaluates wave transmission; rebar scanners locate reinforcement and measure cover-related parameters; adhesion testers evaluate bond strength. A penetration strength tester measures resistance to standardized nail penetration and correlates penetration depth with material strength.
Combining appropriate NDT methods can provide a more comprehensive picture of construction quality and structural condition.
