The detector can be used in the carry case or removed from the case for use as appropriate. The carry case can also be used to store and protect the detector when it is being carried to a job.The kit is supplied in an outfit case that is also convenient for transportation and long term storage. Precision Testing with High SafetyThis spark tester is equipped with a sensitive brass bead chain electrode, providing insulation testing for various cable types with a test voltage range of up to 15,000 V and an accuracy of 5%. Overcurrent protection and robust alarm systems ensure both cable integrity and user safety. The equipment is enclosed in durable, powder-coated mild steel, suitable for rigorous industrial and laboratory environments.
Flexible Operation and User-Friendly FeaturesDesigned for ease of use, the spark tester incorporates manual controls through push buttons and rotary switches. Test speed and voltage are manually adjustable, and results are instantly displayed on a bright LED digital panel. Its desktop mounting, low power consumption (below 50W), and natural air cooling combine convenience and energy efficiency.
Wide Applicability and ComplianceSupporting insulation tests for single specimens with diameters up to 15 mm at widths up to 50 mm, this tester is suitable for a variety of cable jacket materials. The spark tester meets IS 4810 and IEC 62230 standards, ensuring compliance for professional distributors, exporters, importers, suppliers, traders, and wholesalers across India.
FAQs of Spark Tester:
Q: How does the Spark Tester detect insulation defects in cables?
A: The Spark Tester utilizes a brass bead chain electrode to apply a high-voltage spark across coated wires or cables. If insulation is insufficient, a leakage current (as sensitive as 1 mA) triggers the buzzer and LED alarm, promptly signaling a defect.
Q: What are the types and sizes of cables that can be tested with this device?
A: This equipment is suitable for a variety of cables, including PVC, XLPE, and rubber types, accommodating specimens up to 15 mm in diameter and test widths up to 50 mm.
Q: When should the Spark Tester be used in the cable manufacturing or inspection process?
A: This tester is best employed during final quality assurance or periodic inspection stages to efficiently verify the integrity of cable insulation before dispatch or installation.
Q: Where can this Spark Tester be utilized?
A: Due to its robust construction and portable design, the tester is suitable for both laboratory and industrial environments, meeting widespread needs of distributors, exporters, suppliers, and quality control teams throughout India.
Q: What is the process for operating the Spark Tester and adjusting test settings?
A: Place the cable specimen in the test slot, set your desired test voltage and stroke via the rotary switch and push buttons, and adjust the speed manually. The device automatically signals faults via the LED and buzzer if insulation integrity is compromised.
Q: How does using this Spark Tester benefit quality control processes?
A: With its quick response time (<2 seconds), high accuracy, and comprehensive alarm system, the tester efficiently ensures cable insulation quality, helping prevent field failures and improving operational safety and compliance.
